Gulab Jamun
The Story
The name means 'rose berry' in Persian — gulab (rose water) and jamun (a berry). Brought to the subcontinent by Mughal emperors, gulab jamun became the dessert of every auspicious occasion: Diwali trays, wedding buffets, the first offering at a temple feast. The scent of cardamom and rose is, for millions, the smell of joy itself.
